ABOUT
Tamara is a visual artist, a communicator, a creator. Tamara subscribes to the notion that visual art is visual communication with ourselves, each other, and with the planet. Our ability to communicate has been stolen and commodified by the industrial commercial society leading to humanity’s current communication crisis. One that may lead to our extinction. Tamara seeks to re-open the lines of communication between people through her artwork.
Tamara grew up in Ithaca, NY and then NYC. She has been making art since the first day she could hold a crayon. Tamara completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Vermont and her graduate studies at City College of New York (CCNY). She is raising a daughter and has spent much of her adult life teaching art in NYC public schools.
